We can restore any bronze fittings providing that they are copper alloy (bronze or brass) in sheet, angle or casting. The most commonly requested to be restored is a BMA finish and we offer this either as standard or dark.

The type of alloy does have an impact on the final colour – for example, 90 / 10 Gilding Metal (CZ101) gives a much richer brown due to the high copper content. A satin finish applied to the metal surface will also improve the colour. Polished surfaces can be patinated but the results tend to be lighter and not as durable.

The majority of traditional fittings are sealed with clear wax. Lacquer can also be used but a waxed finish can be touched up and reapplied whereas a lacquered finish cant.

We only undertake the restoration of bronze fittings in situ.
